Numeracy Event, March 25th 09

Target participants:
Skills for Life co-ordinators and teachers responsible for the delivery of numeracy as part of Train to Gain.

Aims of the session:
This practical, one day session will introduce the new numeracy toolkit designed for the use of Train to Gain providers in the North West. It will offer an opportunity to consider the features of effective practice in the promotion and delivery of numeracy in the Train to Gain context.

Objectives:
By the end of the event, participants will have:

Explored good practice in engaging employers and employees in numeracy
as part of the Train to Gain offer.

Considered the skills critical for progression in numeracy from Entry 3 to Level 2.

Examined Move On teaching materials and guidance based on best practice
approaches to teaching numeracy. 

Considered the use of e learning as part of possible delivery options and the
learning support needed for this to be successful. 

Reflected on ways of adapting toolkit approaches and resources to their own practice.
